lyrics
Emerged on the Seventh Path
Bearing the aflame torches
You who condemn the false gods' wrath
Bless me with your cosmic gnosis
Spellbound to pools of ancient night
Venture I - seeking thine gaze
Forth now, I call on you, o mighty Death
Grant me thy blissful prophecy
As Black Dragon you ascend
And as Serpent you shed your skin
Fill me now with your divine essence
To you I offer my primordial sin
O great cosmos-devouring sun
Promethean thunder bursting forth on wings of night
By your will its secrets unfurl
As ancient stars cry out mesmerizing chants
With your gaze parting gates of flames untamed
Setting mortal hearts ablaze
To clear the ascending path
To purge within
To purge without
Necromantic mantras echoing
In your flourishing darkness slithering
My soul - now a fading pyre consumed by your viridian fire
I come to thee - a symphony of blood and bone entwined
Weave now your threads!

The album description mentions an “emotional apex.” That’s really the difference between Stare and the band’s previous albums. Ulcerate was always supremely technically proficient. I just didn’t care all that much. Their growth has come from making music you will feel. Metallurgical Fire

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
