Mind swirling high above
Yearning beyond
Yet those shackles you created sink deep
Thoughts locked in a death grip
Beaten and battered
Thrown against the walls
Of the worlds that bind us
To flesh to remain
Long has your gaze searched
Wandered through the skies
For anything to reflect
The fading shine of your life onto
Lingered here wondering
Whether any of the misery
Came even close to bear a trace
Of what could be seen divine
Withering mortality
Revival faced only in flames
Stand the ground resolute
Whatever fate there may befall
In this end-time masquerade
By the rule of those of might
Old faiths to be lost
Through embers red our paths will cross
Witness these pyres
Gather the will to burn
With splendour seen by none
For a thousand human lifetimes
The sons of ages past
Share a breath of that same
Strength in ashes
In the air and on our tongues
Luminous apparitions
Emerge and point the way
From which we could uncover
The secrets of our own deaths
Withering, entering the blazing flames
Stand the ground resolute
Whatever fate there may befall
In this end-time masquerade
By the rule of those of might
Old faiths to be lost
Through embers red our paths will cross
A spark ignited through heart and the core
You’ll know yourself by the fresh spilt blood
A blade transfixed through heart and the core
And now even the undying night will die
Withering mortality
Revival faced only in flames
Stand the ground resolute
Whatever fate there may befall
In this end-time masquerade
By the rule of those of might
Old faiths to be lost
Through embers red our paths will cross

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74

Very late to the party, but for several years I've found melodic black metal all too similar and all albums sounding like Dissection, etc... HOWEVER, not only I am back into it but UADA is still a layer of complexity above the main baseline and this is an old album worth having, that's a basic milestone in UADA's discography and I felt it needed to be part of my BC collection. sachavonkarl74

This whole album is flawless. This is music for walking in the rain and letting your thoughts run. It's not just a collection of songs, but an actual album. yakbone

The "Cult..." is UADA's sophomore album, and among all, the one I largely prefer. The Vocal performance, to start with, is truly outstanding, and while I really liked their debut album, this one is more varied, and overall is technically superior to anything else I've heard from UADA. Fast, aggressive, but with enchanting melodies to break in between, à la Dissection. Highly recommended! sachavonkarl74
