Self-Deification

anonimoignoto Contemporary music with black metal hues that suggests to me the infiltration of light by malevolent darkness Favorite track: Light-Proof.
Jono Schneider

Jono Schneider Completely insane. Terrifying and gorgeous, vocals that take you on a planetary adventure ride to the soul, brother. Hippie at times but more gruff and wackier, but with utmost seriousness.
Lorenzo
Lorenzo thumbnail
Lorenzo Absolutely absurd contemporary classical / free-jazz that has a soured infusion of metal in places. With a core of dizzying compositions made from virtuosic flute and double bass that complement one another perfectly, the band pushes further into their inspired vision with stellar guest piano work.

The majority of the album is a bold and bizarre bedlam of instrumental complexity momentarily punctuated with choral arrangements and harsh vocals evoking a ceremonious experience.

Simply phenomenal
Mark Clifford
Mark Clifford thumbnail
Mark Clifford This is a fantastic record from incredible musicians that features intricate compositions, virtuosic playing and improvising, and some down right beautiful musical moments interlaced in an avantgarde/metal/freejazz landscape. It warrants multiple listens, there is so much music to hear in a relatively short amount of time on this record.

SkyPanda This is epicness! The debut album was already impressive and this takes it to a whole different level and more! Do not miss out on this! Favorite track: Ginnungagap.

______________________

After the underground success of the first album, which deconstructed and transfigured the metal genre in the light of contemporary music and free jazz, INHUMANKIND are back with "Self-Deification", a new chapter in an avant-garde trilogy that is enriched with new nuances.
In fact, to the convulsive avant-jazz evolutions of Pablo Selnik's flute and Àlex Reviriego's double bass - the heart of the project - is added the elegant sound of a piano, played by none other than Marco Mezquida, one of the greatest European piano talents.

Mastered once again by Colin Marston, "Self-Deification" also features vocal contributions of great intensity and expressiveness, among which the more properly metal ones by Eric Baulenas (MOONLOOP) and Marcos Martins (HEX ARCANA, TOD HUETET UEBEL) stand out.
INHUMANKIND are reconfirmed among the most inspired exponents of contemporary and experimental music that is not afraid to flirt with metal.
