last vinyl before doomsday
Absolutely manic unorthodox doom metal. This is pure, true DOOM, sans the repetition and sameness that perpetually plagues the genre. Love Dionysiaque.

What an amazing record. The fact that it was recorded live add much to the final result. Incredible vocal arrangements, inspired bass lines and a guitar that always gains your interest. A must listen.
Favorite track: By the Styx.

Big chords and guitar trills drop kick you straight back to 1970 as the gods of ecstasy and insanity take you on a wine-fuelled journey of ritual and merrymaking from which you'll emerge with more than a headache. To Thebes we follow the twice-born son of Zeus as he avenges his mother's death before leading the rest of his female relatives into bacchanalian frenzy and the dismemberment of their patriarch. One heavy night.

_______________
Back in 2014 the spirit of Dionysus infiltrated the souls of L.B. and N.C. and manifested his primordial fire under the shape of two cassette recordings. The name was DIONYSIAQUE and the style was unorthodox doom metal rooted in the fertile soil impregnated by the power of CANDLEMASS, VOIVOD, HELLHAMMER, BLACK HOLE and HEAD OF THE DEMON. Such as the god of wine, the band was born twice, and now it is time for the dual divinity to come back.
New satyrs joined L.B. and N.C. in the Dionysian procession to record "Diogonos," the band's first full length album: L.V.L. on bass, trumpet and backing vocals (also invested in the dark works of SACRIFIZER, Au-Delà, SOLSTICIUM, KARNE), B.P. on guitar and backing vocals (from the subterranean doom of SUPERTZAR) and T.H. on drums (from the death grind whirlwind of PROUDHON).
"Diogonos" (in Greek, the one who was born twice) was recorded live in 5 days in early March 2023 at the Heldscalla Studio by Raphaël Henry and consists of eight tracks that exude metal from every pore. Ferocious and primordial doom with marked black-thrash veins and which combines gloomy riffs, steaming guitar solos and oppressive atmospheres with great evocative power, to which two other worshippers of the violet venom contributed. Both comes from the ranks of the black metal horde known as MANZER: Shaxul plays ancient flutes on the interlude titled "Blossom," while Ogma shreds a double guitar solo at the end of "Ad Nauseam."
DIONYSIAQUE are finally ready to spread their wine all over the world.

super duper good follow up to their first record, which is a modern death doom classic, here they went in a bit of a different and more ambitious direction joshuassites
An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
The great Oakland atmospheric black metal band Abstracter returns with a punishing new EP pulled from the depths of hell. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 17, 2021
never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu
